Life is Precious – Live!

Last week I had a friend pass away. He wasn’t a friend who I saw on a regular basis or spoke with all the time. However, he was always present. He always left an impression, as we would have deep talks about life and what was important to each of us when we did see each other. Mike was a true gem and left a significant impression on everyone around him. The outpouring of love on his Facebook page was filled with similar truths about him – how kind and supportive he was but also how he treated life with his glass half full. He had suffered with some physical health issues for most of his adult life but he never complained and always showed up. He carried on with a smile on his face, an easy cadence to his way of being and found the humor even in what would seemingly look like challenging topics. He will be missed greatly.

Mike’s death made me think about the fragility of life and how precious it is. It made me think about how many people don’t dive in and actually do that thing they’ve been wanting to do or a dream they’ve had that they haven’t stepped toward in some way.

Here’s an inspiring poem that someone posted in a private Facebook group that I’m in:

WHAT IF?

What if you’re never ready?

What if, this is as close to being ready that you’ll ever actually be?

What if, the biggest regret you have when you look back on your life, Is that you wasted time waiting, waiting to be better, when you were already so very much enough?

What if, the last thought you have when your life comes to an end, is that you didn’t do enough living whilst you were alive?

My friend, this is it.

This is your life, right here, right now.

And let me tell you something, somebody somewhere went to sleep last night assuming tomorrow would be a new day.

And it wasn’t.

Today is the day.

Every day is the day.

Life waits for no one.

Seize the moment, seize the day.

Dance like nobody’s watching.

Watch the sunset.

Eat the delicious cake.

Put your bare feet on the cool grass.

Be alive.

Be ALIVE.

Put your hand on your chest and feel that heartbeat pulsing through your body.

That’s all you need to be ready.

That is truly all the purpose you ever really need.

You, my friend, are alive.

So live.

As it’s the 2.22.2022 week upon us, this is a great time for gaining clarity on what you want in your life.

Perhaps ask yourself a few questions of inquiry, without judgment:

  1. Are you truly living the life you want to live?

  2. Do you have a whisper in your consciousness that keeps nudging you but you haven’t quite taken that step yet?

  3. Are you happy with the work you are currently doing or do you want to enroll in a class or personal growth teaching that could help propel you to the next best version of yourself?

Take a moment this week to think about the answers and if you gain some insight, other than the direction your life is in, come up with a plan. There is always a solution to a problem. There is always a way to shift gears. It just takes courage to decide and then action.

Many continued blessings on this journey we call life!
